MEET AMANDA
I was born in Denmark, but Southeast Asia was where I grew up — active, sporty, and completely immersed in performing arts from an early age. Singing, dancing, and acting in particular were always at the centre of who I was. It felt natural to pursue it seriously, which led me to Glasgow to train at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Musical Theatre.
It was everything I'd worked towards, and it broke me a little, too. The performing arts industry is physically demanding and mentally exhausting, and, for me, quietly crushing to my sense of self. My mental health struggled. My confidence eroded. And for a while, I couldn't see a way through.
Yoga found me in the middle of that.
What started as a tool for flexibility and posture in my early teens became something I hadn't expected: a way back to myself. It taught me to move with compassion instead of criticism. To feel strong without punishing myself to get there. To come home to my body, even when that felt like the hardest place to be.
After university, I spent time in Bali, dove deep into my practice, and eventually made the move to London, where I've spent the last five years teaching at some of the city's most respected studios.
Hjem was born from everything I wish I'd had. A space that honours the physical - the strength, the mobility, the resilience — but never forgets the mental and emotional weight we inevitably all carry. Whether you're an athlete looking for balance or simply someone who wants to move and feel well in this loud, demanding world, this is for you.
Your body is the most important home you'll ever live in.
Let's come home to it together.
The mission
Move without limits with classes that are creatively designed to open your body, expand your range, and remind you what it feels like to move freely.
FREEDOM
Move for the long game. Yoga and sculpt methods aren't just exercises — they're investments in a body that carries you well for decades to come.
longevity
Strong and still. Discover how real fitness lives in the harmony between effort and recovery, movement and rest, body and mind.
balance
A calmer nervous system is a stronger one. Let the classes help you build the kind of resilience that goes beyond the physical, so you can show up fully, in life and in movement.
